<itunes:summary>Don't let the title of this weeks episode fool you, this isn't some new-agey nonsense. This week its just Phil as he discusses:

-Government officials getting lazy with their lying to the public.

-How Obamacare represents a government controlled by corporate interests, and mandated auto insurance is a legalized trust that keeps rates high and quality down and violates free-market principles.

-Seat belt laws? Same thing.

-Some of the reasons for including lies and omissions by government officials as a strict violation of the State of Jefferson Constitution.

-Should SOJ become a reality, it is important to not become complacent and we must keep a close eye on the SOJ government lest we end up with the same problems all over again.

-The use of semantics to redefine words is a government power expansion tool.

-The "times have changed" excuse by government apologists.

-C.I.S.P.A isn't about cyber security, its about the government trying to cover up their corruption and silence dissent (remember what Josh said, you can't get away with lying on the internet?) and the mainstream media's desperation to black out Ron Paul's successes.

-"For Your Safety" is government doublespeak for "For Our Increased Control."

-Government taking your rights away and keeping it for themselves is a violation of the Title of Nobility Clause.

-Just because a power is given to the SOJ doesn't mean it should be exclusive to them, and that if it would be illegal for a citizen to commit a certain act, then it should also be illegal for government officials.

-Using private contractors for state operations, public works, etc, could help SOJ in the way its helping Weston, FL.

-There is never an excuse for government secrecy and it would have no place in the halls of the Jefferson government, and only complete transparency can build trust in our elected representatives.

-The best way to ensure public safety is through individual empowerment to take care of themselves as their own first responders.

-Permits and licenses equates to guilt before innocence.

-Even though there's a lot of power-trippers in law enforcement its important to recognize the good cops out there, and to make sure youtube videos that purport to show police acting out of line show the whole context of an encounter.

-The real world experience our smarty-pants college kids from outside Jefferson often lack.

-In terms of a Jeffersonian education system, lets bring back the village to raising our children.

-A Jefferson where a citizen can go their entire life and almost never have to interact with the government is a successful Jefferson.

-True wealth comes from production.

-Thoughts on an income tax free Jefferson and how a publicly owned bank could be the answer to raising revenue.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Phil and Josh really did it on the rambling tangents this week. A variety of topics are discussed. Subject matter includes:

-The upcoming Sheriff events and how they've got serious courage for standing up against the status quo.

-The EPA directors "crucify them" comment.

-Referencing the Behind the Green Curtain video about the EPA getting neighbors to spy on neighbors, which leads into tangent about joshs psycho neigboor

-California Air Resources Board mandating dangerous gas cans, the cost of catalytic converters on CA vs. OR.

-Apparently so much as a manufacturer changing the finish on a firearm requires a new drop test in CA.

-Waiting for California to require citizens to wear the red man suit when out in public "for your safety".

-Traffic enforcement has become a money maker for the state, and commercials for it are little more than fear tactic propoganda

-California tobacco laws kill the ability of the free market to run properly, and how voting with your dollars would normally take care of that.

-John Menke shows how the government is responsible for the fish die-offs at the Klamath.

-Chinese companies moving in on American land (here and here).

-Salmon roes turning black in the Klamath? Does anyone know about this?

-The condition of the klamath before the dams.

-Someone needs to come up with a bumper sticker that says something like "SAVE THE SALMON, KEEP THE DAMS!" to counter this "un-dam the Klamath" bumper sticker nonsense.

-A tangent about strange cuisine.

-Wal-mart coming to Eureka.

-Anecdotes about Crescent City.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Dave joins us again this week as he and Phil speculate on what an actual State of Jefferson would look like if it were an actual state with 51 stars on the flag. This weeks tangent features the advancements in technology and the Amish. A number of ideas are explored, some more controversial than others:

-5th Amendment protections would be suspended for state officials, but only on matters concerning their time in office. Basically a duty to answer to the people, regardless if it would constitute self-incrimination.

-It would be the lowest taxed state in the union, because it would respect the right to people's productivity.

-The state government would foster an environment for the people to produce, production being the true creation of wealth, and they would do that by simply staying out of the way of the people to do so. Moochers would have to go elsewhere.

-"Permits" and "licenses" to exercise what amounts to fundamental rights would not exist in Jefferson.

-Free-Market Caveat Emptor economic principles would reign superior for its efficiency, prosperity creating and self-regulating qualities.

-A totally revamped education system that, among other things, taught both sides of history.

-Jefferson would run a debt free budget. Reiterating the idea of all elected officials are ineligible for re-election if the deficit goes over 3% of the state's GDP, and Josh's idea of putting department surplus into interest bearing accounts for future fiscal years.

-Jefferson wouldn't do much beyond protecting people's individual liberty and property.

-Phil speculates on a DUI scenario which raises the inevitable question: how would pot and other drugs be treated in Jefferson?

-Jefferson would definitely be a Constitutional Carry state, an none of these nonsense gun control laws.

-Expiration dates for felony branding. In other words, when someone has paid their debt to society, they ought to have all their rights restored, lest a culture of criminality is cultivated as opposed to remediated.

-Sex crimes against children would remain pretty much as they are, but the punishments ought to be more specific and tailored to individual circumstances (an 18 year old with his 17 year old girlfriend shouldn't be treated as if it were a 45 year old man with a 5 year old).

-The justice system ought to rely on the specific circumstances and less on case law.

-The federal government would have no enforcement powers within the state, the state will enforce them if they are deemed constitutional, or perhaps the feds must seek approval and supervision by the Sheriff of the county they wish to operate in.</itunes:summary>
